  • Containers for setting flan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon condensed vegan milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 small sticks of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegan butter
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons agar agar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 small stick of cinnamon

Instructions

Notes

  • Caramel Preparation: When making the caramel, watch the sugar closely, as it can quickly go from golden to burnt. Achieving the right color is key to the perfect flavor.
  • Infusing Flavors: Allow the cinnamon stick and orange zest to infuse the milk mixture adequately for a full-bodied flavor. However, remove these before the mixture sets to avoid altering the texture.
  • Chill Time:The chilling time is essential for the flan to set completely. Chilling for at least 3-6 hours is recommended, but leaving it overnight can result in an even firmer and more flavorful dessert.
  • Serving Temperature: Serve the flan cold straight from the refrigerator. This helps maintain its structure and enhances the creamy texture.
