Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Add water, grated coconut, and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook for about 30 to 40 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
  • The mixture is ready to be removed from the heat when almost all the water has reduced, and you can see the bottom of the pan when you pass the spoon through.
  • Leave a little syrup in the mixture to ensure it doesn’t dry when cooled. Let it cool to room temperature, and then refrigerate. Serve cold.
