Notes

  • Cassava Preparation:Peel and grate the cassava carefully to ensure a smooth texture. It's essential to remove the fibrous core and to grate the cassava finely for the best consistency in the pudding.
  • Squeezing the Cassava:Squeeze out excess juice from the cassava gently. Over-squeezing can result in a dry pudding, as some natural moisture is essential for a moist texture.
  • Consistency Check: Ensure that the cassava cake is firm enough before adding the topping. This step is crucial to prevent the topping from sinking into the cake.
  • Baking Time Variations: The exact baking time might vary depending on the oven and the thickness of the pudding. Keep an eye on the pudding, especially towards the end of the baking time.
  • Toppings and Customization: Feel free to customize the toppings. While grated cheese is optional, it adds a savory contrast to the sweet pudding. You can also experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors.
  • Broiling for a Crisp Top:If you prefer a crispier, more caramelized top, consider broiling the pudding for the last few minutes. Monitor closely to prevent burning.
